“Austrian artist Céline Struger spent a month in the Hungarian capital in July 2018 after winning the scholarship for the Budapest International Gallery exchange program. Using this opportunity, a joint exhibition is planned by Austrian and Hungarian artists who are familiar with each other's work.

The versatility of Struger’s sculptural-plastic art production is affected by certain early works of Szombathy, mainly by the sub-studies of the city in the early 70s (see the Signs of the City catalog, ArtMill, Szentendre, 2012). Struger also uses found plastic elements while forming similar from ceramics. The art of its artworks is inspired by the real environment.

Céline Struger, a multimedia sculptor and resident artist, was born in 1982 in Klagenfurt. She studied at the Vienna University of Applied Arts and Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Her works are located in Hungary in the collection of the Hungarian National Gallery. Bálint Szombathy was awarded the Hungarian Merit Order Knight Cross in 2018 as a recognition of his role as a creator and theoretical expert in contemporary Hungarian art.”
